This Privacy Policy explains how SmartKeyboard processes information when you use the iOS app and keyboard extension.
1. Data We Process
- API keys you add for OpenAI or Gemini (stored in iOS Keychain on your device).
- Selected text submitted for transformation when you choose a cloud provider.
- Basic local app settings (provider choice, prompt preferences, onboarding state).
2. Data We Do Not Collect
- We do not record all keystrokes across your keyboard usage.
- We do not access password fields or secure input fields (blocked by iOS).
- We do not sell personal information.
3. How Your Text Is Processed
Apple Intelligence: text is processed on-device when this provider is selected.
OpenAI / Google Gemini: selected text is sent to the chosen provider over HTTPS for processing. We do not retain transformed text on our own servers.

5. Legal Bases and Rights
For users in relevant regions, we support rights that may apply under GDPR (including access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, and objection) and CCPA/CPRA (including access, deletion, correction, and non-discrimination rights).
6. Data Retention
- API keys remain in Keychain until removed by you.
- App settings remain on device until app deletion or reset.
- Debug logs remain local and are rotation-limited.
7. Security
We use iOS Keychain for sensitive keys and encrypted HTTPS transport for network requests. No method of storage or transfer is fully risk free.
8. Children
SmartKeyboard is not directed to children under 13.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this policy. Material updates will be reflected by revising the effective date.
